Charles Byrne, the Irish Giant

The story of Charles Byrne, the Irish Giant who died in England in 1783 aged twenty-two. Byrne’s enormous skeleton remains on display at the Hunterian Museum in London. We revealed in the documentary the existence of a number of modern Irish giants who share a genetic mutation with Byrne. This story subsequently became one of the world’s most reported medical stories of 2011.  See the full documentary below.
